Mixed Metallics Wedding Inspiration

Hello guys,

How’s your week been? I must say I can’t get on board with this weather, one minute beautiful sunshine & blue sky the next its hammering down with rain! It seems that Spring is ready to show it’s face but is battling with the clouds, hopefully it will be lovely for the long bank holiday next week (fingers crossed). Lately I have been in love with the idea of mixed metallics, what started out as a tiny bit of an obsession with Copper is now a full on crush of metallics mixed together. Today I wanted to share with you some mixed metallics wedding inspiration, now this combo is most definitely not for the faint hearted but my goodness what a way to create ‘wow’ factor for your big day.

Mixed metallics could include; gold, copper, pewter & charcoal tones and can be incorporated through your stationary, decor, cake and even your bridal dress or bridesmaids dresses. Add to the drama by having different textures to create interest this could be created by using textured fabric linen and sequins. Totally swooning over the cake design above, the black works so well with the metallics too and as both the black and metallic have been used in a minimalist way it isn’t over powering either. That wedding dress too, just stunning! Would you consider wearing a gown like that for your wedding day? The dress style reminds me of a grecian goddess meets Katniss Everdeen with a Hunger Games futuristic twist, I.Love.It.

For the flowers you could use mixed metallic containers in an assortment of sizes & shapes Att Pynta have a gorgeous range of copper and brass pots in an array of different shapes. For the bouquet you could add sequin ribbons in a mix of metallic colours. As the overall vibe is on the ‘moody’ side I would include pops of rich deep shades for your flowers in wine and burgundy tones and add interesting textures with fillers like Brunia which has a greyish/silvery tone to it. You could even spray some of your foliage with metallic paint but remember not to go over kill with it, less is more as they say.

I’m eager to know what you think of this style, it’s quite new on the trends front. Do you like it? Love it? Thinking of having mixed metallics on your wedding day?
